Co-sponsored by the Government of France, Women in Global Health, Last Mile Health and the Community Health Impact Coalition, this 90-minute virtual event brought together key partners working to increase gender equity in the community health workforce. Ministers, community health workers, and funders shared their experiences and lessons learned as they have worked to design and implement gender-transformative policies. This includes: Liberia’s experience revising national policy to recruit and retain female community health workers, Ethiopia’s experience developing optimized training materials for the largely female health extension worker program, and Pakistan’s experience of the Lady Health Worker Programme since its establishment in 1994.
